Sub-Family International Services
Sub-Family Description

Employees in this subfamily are responsible for the management and administration of services to the institution’s foreign scholars and staff and provide technical support for student immigration matters. Duties include overseeing and administering all aspects of immigration-related services including documentation and record-keeping for employment-based immigrants, H-1, J-1, B1/B2, TN and WB personnel and scholars. Employees advise departments on current USCIS, Department of State and Department of Labor regulations and procedures. Coordinates the development and implementation of immigration-related policies and procedures.

Stream Individual Contributor
Stream Description

This career stream typically includes non-supervisory staff responsible for utilizing learned knowledge to provide impactful work output to the organization. An individual contributor (IC) is defined as an individual responsible for tasks, duties, assignments and projects ranging in complexity and often requiring analysis. Experience and knowledge is brought to the position, with lower level staff learning additional skills on the job. IC staff typically report to employees in the Management career stream, with higher level incumbent contributors reporting to Executives in an advisory or expert capacity. While individual contributors are not responsible for the formal supervision of staff, they may lead project teams or provide coaching and delegation of work to other employees.

Job Classification Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
