Job Description Summary:

The Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) community is dedicated to the mission of leading innovation through learning. Our students emerge from our programs enriched in theory and practice and become agents of change in education and human services. Special education is a field that is significantly threatened by teacher shortages, according to the Teacher Shortage Area Nationwide Listing from the federal government. To address this shortage, GSEHD is leading the launch of a new online master’s program that will train teachers working with high-needs disabled students to transition into adulthood— a program started with support from a $1.25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. We are looking for a team member to assist us in this research. This position will report to the faculty chair. This position does not have direct reports but may schedule, train and supervise temporary staff or student workers. This position is contingent upon continued funding. The key responsibilities include:
Conduct research related to disability employment.
Research synthesis and development of a paper related to employment for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Research related to disability employment policies and implementation.
Synthesis and report on employer interview.
The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in education, social or behavioral sciences, or human services preferred.
Experience in working with quantitative and qualitative data and in conducting literature reviews and literature synthesis
Experience and interest in the field of disability studies.
Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Experience in preparing reports that have text, tables, and visual information.
Enjoys working as part of a small, strong team as well as independently to achieve goals and objectives.
Highly detailed with strong organizational skills, self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong writer and persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
Able to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, facilitate decision making and conflict resolution, maintain a positive and constructive demeanor treating all staff, students, faculty with professionalism, courtesy and respect.
