I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The George Washington University Law School Admissions Office is responsible for the recruitment and selection of students for the JD program. The Office advises and provides prospective students information on the School’s admission requirements and options, transfer policy and procedures, other associated issues and questions. The Office currently has an opening for an Admissions Coordinator. This position reports to the Department Operations Supervisor and will have the following responsibilities:
• Oversees the processing of all transfer and visiting student admission decisions.
• Processes all new applications and related student documents such as transcripts and letters of recommendation; tracks applications through their cycles. May work on joint degree applicants with supervisor or Director of Admissions.
• Provides weekly statistical and comparative reports on admissions and/or financial aid to the Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid.
• Oversees the watch list process for current applicants.
• Coordinates law fair registrations which includes the selection of recruitment materials and shipping of brochures. May organize and schedule group visits.
• Assists with phone and email inquiries from prospective students; updates and monitors social media platforms.
• Performs other work related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Attention to detail and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse academic community.

Proficiency with personal computers and associated contemporary hardware/software applications.

Office administrative experience preferably in higher education.
