Position Description Summary:

The Department of Pathology at the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, the independent non-profit faculty clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University, is seeking a neuropathologist. This non-tenure track faculty appointment will be made at a rank (Instructor/Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) and salary commensurate with experience.

Our growing medical center, with a modern, state-of-the-art hospital and expanding Cancer Center, is located in the heart of the nation’s capital. An increasing neurosurgical volume from our active Neurosurgery and Neurology Services provides opportunities to sign out both neoplastic and non-neoplastic cases, including nerve and muscle biopsy specimens, and to conduct clinical and translational research in collaboration with neurosurgeons, neurologists, oncologists, and other clinicians and basic investigators.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include providing clinical service, including participation in the autopsy service; teaching residents, fellows, and medical students; and developing an active research program.

Minimum Qualifications:

MD or equivalent; Board-certified or Board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, fellowship trained in Neuropathology, and Board-eligible or Board-certified in Neuropathology at the time of appointment; and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia.
