Position Description Summary:

The department of Romance, German, and Slavic Languages and Literatures at The George Washington University invites applications for two full-time, non-tenure accruing appointments at the rank of Teaching Instructor of French to begin as early as August 1, 2018 with an initial three-year appointment. Appointment renewal is contingent on successful performance and enrollment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching seven French language courses per year, as well as participation in the development, maintenance and implementation of curriculum and of assessment instruments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: a M.A. or Masters 2 degree in French (language, French or Francophone studies, pedagogy (FLE), etc.) or related field by the date of appointment; demonstrated teaching excellence (student evaluations, classroom observations, other); native or near native fluency in French (orally and in writing); experience teaching at the university level; extensive knowledge of the use of multimedia and instructional technologies in language instruction; a passion for the teaching of French and Francophone cultures at all levels.
