I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Department of Marketing and Creative Services at the George Washington University is seeking a Multimedia Producer to shoot, edit and produce content for all areas of the university. This position requires knowledge of various forms of media including but not limited to, cinematography, commercial/studio/field production, lighting schemes, video and audio editing, and graphic animation. An ideal candidate will be well versed in video editing and all aspects of video production as well as digital storytelling.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Marketing Strategy, and collaborating with the Multimedia Producer, this position will help in the creation and implementation of multimedia deliverables across GW digital properties, including web, mobile, and social media, ensuring best practices are followed. This position has the opportunity to develop multimedia strategies under the direction of the Associate Director of Digital Marketing Strategy and in collaboration with a team of creative professionals.

Ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking and working on shorter projects with tight deadlines as well as long-term video campaigns. Multimedia Producer is expected to stay current on emerging and new digital trends, the latest in video equipment, and best practices in video production.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Proficient in Adobe Premiere
Experience in AE motion graphics
Experience with the Canon C300 and the Canon C100
Experience using Jibs and Dollies
Experience in digital storytelling
Strong communication skills
Enjoys working in a collaborative environment
Knowledge of developing video content for social media platforms
