Position Description Summary:

The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at the George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health is seeking an Assistant Professor of Exercise Physiology.

The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences has an active research portfolio and offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Exercise Science. This is a renewable 12-month, non-tenure-accruing appointment beginning as soon as possible. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The position requires teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs; mentoring and advising students; engaging in research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals; and when appropriate providing technical expertise to other faculty research in the Milken Institute School of Public Health; serving on University committees; and providing service to the profession, community, and to the University. This is a renewable 12-month, non-tenure-accruing appointment beginning as soon as possible. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a terminal degree in Exercise Physiology or related field; experience teaching, mentoring and advising students at the undergraduate and graduate level; research experience in neuromuscular adaptations to exercise, metabolism and integrated physiology; and, evidence of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
