|Position Description Summary:||
The Department of Pathology at the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (GWU MFA), the independent non-profit faculty clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University, is seeking an academic surgical pathologist with a special interest in breast pathology and secondary interest in other areas of pathology (current other needed areas include head and neck and pulmonary pathology). The GWU MFA is part of a growing medical center with a modern, state-of-the-art hospital and expanding Cancer Center located in the heart of the nation’s capital. Our NAPBC-accredited Comprehensive Breast Center provides world-class and highly patient-focused breast care services, offering many opportunities for clinical and research collaboration.
|Specific Duties and Responsibilities:||
The successful candidate will sign out a large and varied number of breast specimens and will be expected to contribute to the total mission of the department – quality clinical service, effective teaching, and productive research. Academic rank and salary will be based on experience and academic accomplishments.
MD or equivalent. Candidates must be Board-certified or Board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the time of appointment and must be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the District of Columbia. Candidates must also have a demonstrated interest and/or special training in breast pathology.
